How to Register for CMA Course Online 2026 — Step-by-Step ICMAI Process

CMA course registration should be done carefully. Wrong level selection, incorrect documents, a missed cut-off date, or a spelling error in personal details can create avoidable complications — and in some cases, the fee paid is not refunded. Reading this guide before starting the registration process will help you go through it confidently and correctly.

Do not begin filling the registration form until you have completed these three steps:

Step 1: Verify your eligibility for the level you want to register for

ICMAI eligibility conditions determine which level you can register for based on your educational qualification. Foundation eligibility is generally available after Class 10+2 (subject to current ICMAI conditions). Intermediate eligibility is available after clearing Foundation, or through direct entry routes for graduates — subject to specific conditions. Do not register for a level without verifying eligibility. Registering for an incorrect level can result in your registration being invalidated or complications at the time of examination. Eligibility must be verified from official ICMAI sources — not from coaching centres, WhatsApp groups, or older blog posts.

Step 2: Decide whether to register for Foundation or Intermediate

For most new students after Class 12: Foundation is the starting point. For graduates or students who may qualify for direct entry to Intermediate: verify the current direct entry conditions from icmai.in/ClntStudents/CourseEligibility before choosing Intermediate registration. If you have already cleared Foundation: register for Intermediate directly.

Step 3: Verify the current fees

For CMA Foundation registration (typically required — verify from ICMAI):

• Class 10 mark sheet / board certificate (matriculation proof)
• Class 12 mark sheet / board certificate (or appearing proof if registered as an appearing student — subject to ICMAI eligibility conditions)
• Recent passport-size photograph as per ICMAI specifications (check required dimensions, background colour, and file size from current admission guidance)
• Specimen signature as required (check format from ICMAI admission guidance)
• Identity proof (as specified in current ICMAI admission instructions)

For CMA Intermediate registration (typically required — verify from ICMAI):

• All Foundation registration documents above
• CMA Foundation pass certificate / mark sheet (if registering after Foundation clearance)
• Graduation degree certificate / final year mark sheet (if registering through direct entry route)
• Any additional documents specified in ICMAI's current direct entry eligibility conditions

Practical document preparation tips:

• Scan all documents clearly before starting the form — blurry or dark scans are rejected
• Check the required file format (JPG, PDF, etc.) and file size limits from ICMAI admission guidance before scanning
• Keep originals accessible during document upload in case file size or clarity needs adjustment
• Photograph must be recent — not older than 6 months; check background colour requirements from ICMAI guidance

Before clicking the payment button, verify every one of the following. This takes 3–5 minutes and prevents the most common post-payment problems:

• ✅ Date of birth is correct and matches your Class 10 certificate
• ✅ Mobile number is active and accessible — OTPs and future communications will be sent here

Registration is not the end of the process — it is the beginning. These steps are critical after completing payment:

• Download and save payment receipt immediately: Do not close the browser tab without downloading the payment receipt or acknowledgement. Save this as a PDF to your device and also email it to yourself. This document is your proof of registration.
• Note your student registration number / ID: Your ICMAI student ID is required for examination form filling, admit card download, result checking, and future correspondence. Write it down in a secure location and also save the email confirmation that contains it.
• Save login credentials: The username and password you used for the ICMAI admission portal will be needed for subsequent steps — examination form submission, study material access, and result checking. Save them securely.
• Check study material access: ICMAI may despatch physical study materials or provide online study material access after registration. Check the current process from icmai.in — and if study material is not received within the expected period, contact ICMAI directly through official contact channels.
• Note the examination form filling deadline for your target session: Registration does not automatically register you for the examination. You must separately submit an examination form before each session's cut-off date. Note these dates from icmai.in immediately after registration so they do not come as a surprise.
• Begin preparation: Registration is complete. The next step is preparation. ICMAI generally holds CMA examinations twice a year — June session and December session. Each session has specific cut-off dates for:

• Course registration (new enrolment) cut-off: The last date to complete course registration and be eligible to appear for that specific session. If you miss this, your first possible attempt shifts to the next session (6 months later).
• Examination form submission cut-off: Even after registration, you must separately submit an examination form for each session you want to appear in. This has its own cut-off date. Missing the exam form cut-off means you cannot appear for that session despite being registered.

How to plan:

• Identify your target examination session (June or December) based on when you expect to be ready for the exam
• Check the registration cut-off date for that session from icmai.in
• Register at least 2–3 weeks before the cut-off date — not on the cut-off day itself (server load and payment failure risks increase near deadlines)
• Set a calendar reminder for the examination form cut-off date — this is a separate step from registration

• Mistake 1: Using unofficial registration links. Links shared in WhatsApp groups, Telegram channels, or third-party websites may lead to fraudulent or outdated portals. Always start from icmai.in directly — type it in the browser rather than clicking a shared link.
• Mistake 2: Selecting the wrong course level. Registering for Intermediate when only Foundation eligibility exists — or vice versa — creates complications that are difficult and sometimes costly to resolve. Verify eligibility from icmai.in/ClntStudents/CourseEligibility before selecting.
• Mistake 3: Uploading unclear or incorrectly-sized documents. Scans that are too dark, too light, or wrong dimensions are rejected or cause processing delays. Check specifications, scan in good light, and preview each document after upload.
• Mistake 4: Using an email or mobile number you do not regularly check. ICMAI sends registration confirmation, exam form notifications, admit card links, and result alerts to the registered email and mobile. Use a personal email that you will continue to use throughout your CMA journey — not a college email that may be deactivated.
• Mistake 5: Not downloading the fee receipt immediately after payment. Payment confirmations may not be resent. Download and save the receipt immediately after payment confirmation. If the portal does not show a receipt within 10–15 minutes of successful payment, check your email or contact ICMAI through official support channels.
• Mistake 6: Assuming registration = exam form submission. These are separate processes. Registration enrols you in the CMA programme. Examination form submission registers you for a specific session's exam. Check the examination form cut-off and submit separately before the deadline for each session you plan to appear in.
• Mistake 7: Missing the cut-off date by leaving registration to the last day. ICMAI portals experience high traffic near cut-off dates. Payment failures, OTP delays, and server slowdowns are more common on the final day. Register at least 2–3 weeks before the cut-off.
• Mistake 8: Not saving login credentials after registration. The admission portal credentials are needed for future examination form submission, admit card download, and result checking. Save them immediately after registration and keep them in a secure, accessible location.
